Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come. 20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours" (Gen. 45:19-21).
When Joseph finally revealed himself to his brothers to be alive and ruling in the land of Egypt, he commanded them to bring the rest of the family to Egypt to escape the famine. In order to do so Joseph provided wagons and the provision needed for the journey. He also gave the following admonition, "regard not your stuff (goods) for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours." Egypt was the most powerful and prosperous kingdom on earth. And God worked it out so that all that his covenant people needed to continue to advance God's heavenly kingdom was available to them. When we are living to advance God's kingdom today, like Joseph brothers we can trust that God will provide for all our needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus (Philip 4:19). Are you worried about stuff? Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteous and all these things shall be added unto you." If seeking first God's kingdom is your # 1 priority Jesus is saying to you today, "Regard not your stuff for the riches and power of heaven is behind you."
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalms 1:1-3
