God is a jealous God

"Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served...and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served...or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Josh 24:14-15) The fact that God is a jealous God is a characteristic that we don't often consider. God does not appreciate the fact that many Christians have not made up their minds regarding who will be god in their lives. Like the Israelites they had other gods that they allowed to compete with their devotion to God. Do you have idols in your life? An idol is anything that takes the place of God. "An idol of the mind is as offensive to God as an idol of the hand." Choose you this day whom ye will serve. As for me, I choose Jesus!
